Abstract
Emulsion polymerization techniques can be improved by using in the reaction, a precursor which is a cocyclic silicone which has a structure generally corresponding to the formula: ##STR1## where a and b have a value of 1-10; R3, R4, and R5 are alkyl groups containing 1-6 carbon atoms; and R6 is a C.sub.8 or higher alkyl group such as --(CH.sub.2).sub.7 CH.sub.3, --(CH.sub.2).sub.11 CH.sub.3, or --(CH.sub.2).sub.15 CH.sub.3. R3, R4, and R5 are preferably methyl groups. Aminosiloxanes or aminosilanes can also be included in this polymerization process.
