Abstract
According to a novel process, triazolinethione derivatives of the formula ##STR1## in which R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 are each as defined in the description, can be prepared by PA1 a) reacting hydrazine derivatives of the formula ##STR2## PA1 with formaldehyde and thiocyanate of the formula EQU X--SCN (III), in which PA1 X represents sodium, potassium or ammonium, in the presence of a diluent and if appropriate in the presence of an acid, and PA1 b) reacting the resulting triazolidinethiones of the formula ##STR3## either PA1 .alpha.) with oxidizing agents, if appropriate in the presence of a catalyst and in the presence of a diluent, or PA1 .beta.) with formic acid. The triazolidinethiones of the formula (IV) are novel.
