Abstract
A process for the electrochemical oxidation of organic compounds, wherein the anode material used is a mixed oxide of formula (I) EQU Mo.sub.a Bi.sub.b X.sup.1.sub.c X.sup.2.sub.d X.sup.3.sub.e X.sup.4.sub.f X.sup.5.sub.g O.sub.h (I) PA1 where PA1 X.sup.1 is V, Nb, Cr, W, Ta, Ga, Ce, and/or La; X.sup.2 is Li, La, K, Rb, Cs, Cu, Ag, Au, Pd and/or Pt; X.sup.3 is Fe, Co, Ni and/or Zn; X.sup.4 is Sn, Rb, Sb and/or Te; X.sup.5 is Ti, Zr, Si and/or Al; and where a is 0-3; b is 0-3; c is 0-12.5; d is 0-5; e is 0-1.5; f is 0-1; and g is 0-25 PA1 with the proviso that a+d.gtoreq.0.15.
