Abstract
Process for preparing 5-substituted pyrrolo [3,4-d] pyrimidine-2-4-diones of formula (I) ##STR1## wherein W, Q, R.sup.1, R.sup.2 and R.sup.10 are as defined in the specification and Y is COOH, wherein a corresponding C.sub.1-5 alkyl ester compound is hydrolyzed. The compounds are useful for treating or reducing the risk of reversible obstructive airways disease.
