Abstract
The invention relates to a biaxially oriented polyester film which, after metallization, has low oxygen permeation and good adhesion to the metallization, and is composed of at least one base layer B and, applied to this base layer, at least one layer A, where this layer A PA1 i) has, per mm.sup.2 of film surface, a number N of elevations whose respective heights h and diameters d are correlated by the following equations: EQU log N/mm.sup.2 <A.sub.h -B.sub.h *log h/.mu.m, 0.05 .mu.m<h<1.0 .mu.m (1) wherein A.sub.h =1.4; B.sub.h =2.5 EQU log N/mm.sup.2 <A.sub.d -Bd*log d/.mu.m, 0.2 .mu.m<d<10.0 .mu.m (2) wherein A.sub.d =3.4; B.sub.d =2.4 and PA1 ii) has a copolyester coating derived from isophthalic acid and a sulfomonomer.
