Abstract

The invention concerns a method of obtaining haemin. In order to separate haemin from the globin part, slaughter blood is subjected to an acid treatment at a pH of between 1.2 and 3 and a temperature of between 45 and 80.degree. C., the haemin then being separated from globin.
