Abstract
Disclosed are a novel transition metal compound represented by the following general formula (I), a catalyst component for olefin polymerization comprising same, a catalyst for olefin polymerization comprising said catalyst component, and a process for the preparation of an .alpha.-olefin polymer: ##STR1## where the definition of formula (I) is described in the specification.
