Abstract
The invention relates to a method for manufacturing components from critical cold forming of light metal strip, preferably naturally hard Al alloys of the AlMg or AlMg--Mn types, in which the desired component is manufactured from the strip by at least one cold forming step and the plasticity is improved before the cold forming by means of a soft annealing. According to the invention, it is proposed that the region of the longitudinal edges of the cold-slit strips is heated in a depth in the strip width of at least 1 mm to a maximum of 10 mm in such a way that a temperature of over 150.degree. C. is reached over a time span of more than 0.1 seconds to a maximum of 10 seconds.
