Abstract
The present invention relates to compositions containing oxidatively drying binders and, as anti-skinning additives, tin(II) and tin(IV) compounds corresponding to formulas (I) and (II) EQU R.sup.1 --COO--Sn--OOC--R.sup.2 (I), and EQU (R.sup.1 --COO)(R.sup.2 --COO).sub.n --Sn(R.sup.3)(R.sup.4).sub.m (II), wherein PA0 R.sup.1, R.sup.2, R.sup.3 and R.sup.4 are the same or different and represent linear or branched C.sub.1 -C.sub.18 alkyl, C.sub.5 -C.sub.7 cycloalkyl or phenyl, PA0 n and m are the same or different and have a value of 0, 1 or 2 and n+m=2, PA0 wherein the additives are present on the surface of the compositions as opposed to being mixed throughout the compositions.
