Abstract
A method for treating autoimmune disease by removing peripheral blood mononuclear cells from a patient, treating the mononuclear cells with an inhibitory composition that suppresses immunoglobulin production, and reintroducing the treated cells to the patient. The inhibitory composition can be IL-2, TGF-.beta., or a CD2 activator.
