Abstract

Essentially colorless, transparent polyimide coatings and films prepared by combining aromatic dianhydrides with para-substituted aromatic diamines are provided. The polyimide coatings and films are produced by a process whereby the dianhydride and diamine monomer components are reacted at temperatures of greater than 80.degree. C.
