Abstract

A terpolymer having units of Formula I ##STR1## wherein PA1 X is a C.sub.2-10 alkyl, C.sub.6-12 aryl, or C.sub.4-12 alkoxy radical, PA1 d is from about 3 to about 50, PA1 R is a fluoroalkyl radical R.sub.f --(A).sub.v --(B).sub.w --, PA1 R.sub.f is a fully fluorinated straight or branched aliphatic radical optionally interrupted by at least one oxygen atom, PA1 A is a divalent radical selected from --SO.sub.2 N(R")--, --CON(R")--, --S--, or --SO.sub.2 --, where R" is H, or a C.sub.1-6 alkyl radical, PA1 B is a divalent linear hydrocarbon radical --C.sub.t H.sub.2t --, where t is 1 to 12, PA1 Y is a divalent radical --CH.sub.2 --O--, PA1 u, v, and w are each independently zero or 1, PA1 R' is hydrogen or methyl, PA1 e is from about 0.05 to about 10, PA1 M is hydrogen, alkali metal, or ammonium, and PA1 f is from about 5 to about 40, and its use to provide soil resistance and resistance to staining by acid dyes for fiber substrates is disclosed.
