Abstract

Compounds of the formula (I) and their salts ##STR1## in which PA0 R.sup.1 is optionally substituted (C.sub.1 -C.sub.6)alkyl or optionally substituted phenyl, PA0 A is an optionally substituted hydrocarbon diradical and PA0 R.sup.2, R.sup.3, R.sup.4, R.sup.5, X and n are as defined in claim 1, are suitable as herbicides and plant growth regulators. The compounds (I) can be prepared according to processes as claimed in claim 6 by means of intermediates which are novel in some cases, e.g. of the formula (IV) as claimed in claim 10.
