The, lower surface is formed with an engaging means which is adapted to engage a matching formation in a seat in the outer end of the swinging arm. The rear surface acts as a supporting surface which serves to abut against a corresponding swinging arm supporting surface which is directed forwards or obliquely forwards against the direction of feed of the logs. The engaging means comprises a ridge or a groove and is rectilinear and elongate in such manner that its total length exceeds its height or depth, and preferably also its width, at least by a factor ten.
