Abstract
The object of the present invention is brown solar glasses, absorbing UV or IR radiation, as well as solar ophthalmic lenses in said glasses. Said glasses have the following composition, expressed in percentages by weight: SiO.sub.2 : 64-71; B.sub.2 O.sub.3 : 2-8; Al.sub.2 O.sub.3 : 0-4; ZrO.sub.2 : 0-2; Li.sub.2 O: 0-4; Na.sub.2 O: 6-10; K.sub.2 O: 7-16; CaO: 0-5.5; ZnO: 0-5.5; TiO.sub.2 ; 0-2; Fe.sub.2 O.sub.3 : 3-9; Co.sub.3 O.sub.4 : 0-0.030; NiO: 0-0.2; SeO.sub.2 : 0.0030-0.1; As.sub.2 O.sub.3 : 0-0.1; Sb.sub.2 O.sub.3 : 0-0.1; SnO.sub.2 : 0-0.1; Cl: 0-2; Br: 0-2; F: 0-2.
