The invention relates to new diphenyl-substituted 5-ring heterocycles of general formula (I) ##STR1## wherein A, X and the groups R.sup.1, R.sup.2, R.sup.3, R.sup.4 and R.sup.5 are defined as in the claims, processes for preparing them and their use as pharmaceutical compositions.
