Abstract
The present invention relates to a composition, and method of use, of an actahydrobenzo[f]quinoline-based compound represented by the following structural formula: ##STR1## In this formula, R.sup.1 is --OH or --OCH.sub.3 and R.sup.2 is --H, --OH or --OCH.sub.3. In addition, R.sup.3 is a C1 to C2 saturated or unsaturated, alkyl group. Furthermore, R.sup.4 is an aryl group, wherein examples of suitable aryl groups, as defined herein, include phenyl and thienyl groups. The method of this invention relates to the use of the claimed composition to treat psychotic disorders, to treat Parkinson's disease, or to sedate a mammal by administering an effective amount of a claimed composition.
