Abstract

The invention relates to a process for preparing perfluoroalkylfluorophosphoranes of the general formula EQU (C.sub.n F.sub.2n+m).sub.y PF.sub.5-y (I) where PA1 n is 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 or 8 PA1 m is +1 or -1 and PA1 y is 1, 2 or 3, where the ligands (C.sub.n F.sub.2n+m) may be identical or different, and also to their use as electrolytes and as precursors for conducting salts, and to their employment in lithium batteries.
