Abstract
A method is provided for suppressing body odors in a human by administering orally to the human or applying to the skin of the human, at least one compound chosen from the group consisting of shogaols and gingerols. The compound corresponds to the general formula: ##STR1## in which X represents: PA1 either --CH.dbd.CH--, in which case n is equal to 1, 2, 4, 6, or 8; PA1 --CH.sub.2 --CH(OH)--, in which case n is equal to 2, 4, 6 or 8.
