Abstract

An active electro-optical filtering device, such as a glare-protection device is disclosed. The device is equipped with a light-protection filter having at least one active optical filter element, an electronic device for controlling the active filter element, a light sensor working together with the electronic device, and an electrical current supply for the electronic device and the at least one active filter element. In order to improve the efficiency in production and employment, the light-protection filter is arranged in a filter component and the electronic device, the light sensor and the electric current supply are arranged in a physically separate control component, wherein the filter components can be releasably connected mechanically and electrically to form a total unit, and for this purpose, are equipped with mutually cooperating mechanical and electrical connecting elements. In order to provide the user in his work with a viewing sense which is physiologically least disruptive in all viewing directions through the filter element and to meet basic requirements in regard to safety, such as improved spatial vision and therefore an unhampered sense of balance and the dete…
