Abstract
Corrosion-resistant low-nickel austenitic stainless steel having the following compostion in percentages by weight: PA1 0.01%<carbon<0.08%, PA1 0.1%<silicon<1%, PA1 5%<manganese<11%, PA1 15%<chromium<17.5%, PA1 1%<nickel<4%, PA1 1%<copper<4%, PA1 1.times.10.sup.-4 %<sulfur<20.times.10.sup.-4 %, PA1 1.times.10.sup.-4 %<calcium<50.times.10.sup.-4 %, PA1 0%<aluminum<0.03%, PA1 0.005%<phosphorus<0.1%, PA1 boron<5.times.10.sup.-4 %, PA1 oxygen<0.01%, the balance being iron and impurities resulting from the smelting operation.
