Abstract
Disclosed are novel compounds of formula I ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1, R.sup.2, R.sup.3, L, X and Y are as defined in the specification. These compounds are useful in the treatment of conditions mediated by nuclear receptors, in particular the Retinoid X Receptor (RXR) and the Peroxisome Proliferator-Activated Receptor (PPAR) families. Such conditions include diabetes and obesity.
