Abstract

The alloy is for making an infrared transducer. It is constituted by (In.sub.1-x Tl.sub.x) (As.sub.1-y Sb.sub.y) in which 0.ltoreq.x<1 and 0<y<1 (where x and y are less than 1/2). On a GaSb or AlSb substrate, the transducer comprises an active layer of the alloy having a composition such that its lattice is of a size that is equal to that of the substrate material.
