Abstract

The present invention relates to the use of small organic compounds acting as opioid receptor ligands for the treatment of vasomotor disturbances. In particular the present invention relates to the use of triaza-spiro compounds of formula ##STR1## wherein PA1 R.sup.1, R.sup.2, R.sup.3, R.sup.4, R.sup.5, z and n are defined in the specification, for the treatment of migraine, non-insulin dependent diabetes mellitus (type II diabetes), sepsis, inflammation, incontinence and/or vasomotor disturbances, in particular the peripheral vasomotor effects known as hot flushes or hot flashes.
