Abstract

This invention relates to a novel class of polymeric resins which have a softening point ranging from about 50.degree. C. to about 220.degree. C. and a molecular weight ranging from about 500 to about 42,000. The resins comprise the polymers which result from the polymerization reaction between dimethyl dicyclopentadiene and limonene. The polymeric resins are particularly useful in improving traction of the rubber when used in tire treads.
