Abstract

Compounds having the formula ##STR1## and pharmaceutically acceptable salts and prodrugs thereof are matrix metalloproteinase inhibitors. Also disclosed are matrix metalloproteinase-inhibiting compositions and methods of inhibiting matrix metalloproteinase in a mammal.
