Abstract
A low power analog-to-digital converter generates, during a calibration process, a plurality of digital control words as a function of non-linearities in the circuit components. These predetermined digital control words are used during data conversion to compensate for the component non-linearities. During conversion, the analog input voltage is applied to a first device and a selected one of the predetermined digital control words is applied to a second device which is coupled to the first device through an amplifying feedback network. The predetermined digital control word is selected as a function of the bit being converted and the preceding bits. The impedance across the first and second devices is compared to provide the respective bit of the corresponding digital output word. The process is repeated for conversion of each bit of the corresponding digital output word.
