Abstract
In binuclear metal hydride complexes of the formuula (I) ##STR1## the substituents and indices have the following meanings: PA0 M is scandium, yttrium, lanthanum or a lanthanide metal, PA0 R is hydrogen, halogen, C.sub.1 -C.sub.20 -alkyl, C.sub.3 -C.sub.1 -cycloalkyl, C.sub.6 -C.sub.15 -aryl or C.sub.3 -C.sub.30 -organosilyl, where two adjacent radicals R can also form a saturated or unsaturated, cyclic or heterocyclic group having from 4 to 18 carbon atoms, PA0 Z is --SiR'.sub.2 --, --CR'.sub.2 --, --GeR'.sub.2 --, --SnR'.sub.2 --, --BR'-- or --O--, PA0 R' is C.sub.1 -C.sub.20 -alkyl, C.sub.3 -C.sub.10 -cycloalkyl, C.sub.6 -C.sub.15 -aryl or alkylaryl having from 1 to 10 carbon atoms in the alkyl part and from 6 to 10 carbon atoms in the aryl part, PA0 m is 1 or 2, PA0 X is --O--, --S--, --NR"--, --PR"--, --OR", --SR", --NR".sub.2 or --PR".sub.2, PA0 R" is hydrogen, C.sub.1 -C.sub.20 -alkyl, C.sub.3 -C.sub.10 -cycloalkyl, C.sub.6 -C.sub.15 -aryl, alkylaryl having from 1 to 10 carbon atoms in the alkyl part and from 6 to 10 carbon atoms in the aryl part or C.sub.3 -C.sub.30 -organosilyl and L is a low molecular weight, Lewis-basic, organic compound.
