Abstract
An isolated and essentially purified cell matrix plaque of initial bone formation comprising of .alpha..sub.v.beta..sub.3 integrin and rapid assays using such cell matrix plaques to measure potentials of factors, regimens or tissues for stimulation and/or inhibition of bone formation.
