Abstract
Compound of the formula (I): ##STR1## wherein Ar is a group of the following formula (Ar-1) or (Ar-2): ##STR2## A is a group of the formula: EQU --Z--N(Q.sup.1)(Q.sup.2), --CO--R.sup.7 or EQU --(CH.sub.2)p--CH(R.sup.8)--COR.sup.9, or a pharmaceutically acceptable acid addition salt thereof, a process for preparing the same, a pharmaceutical composition containing the same, and intermediates therefor. The compounds of the present invention show a potent affinity for 5-HT.sub.4 receptors, and they are useful as a gastrointestinal motility enhancer or a gastrointestinal prokinetic agent.
