Abstract
Caprolactam inhibitors are provided which have the structure ##STR1## including pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof and all stereoisomers thereof, and prodrugs thereof, wherein n is 1 to 5; and PA1 and Y R.sup.1, R.sup.2, R.sup.3, R.sup.5, R.sup.5a, R.sup.6, R.sup.7, R.sup.8, R.sup.9 and R.sup.10 are as defined herein. These compounds are inhibitors of Factor Xa and thus are useful as anticoagulants. A method for treating cardiovascular diseases associated with thromboses is also provided.
