Abstract
A water-soluble or water-dispersible copolymer comprising: PA1 at least one polyoxyalkylene (POA) unit; and PA1 at least one sulfonated polyamide (PAS) unit; PA2 the quantity of SO.sub.3 M functions, expressed as the mass of SO.sub.3.sup.- function, in said (PAS) unit or units is such that it represents at least 0.1% of the total mass of said copolymer; PA2 the total (POA) units/total (PAS) units mass ratio is 95/5 to 30/70/ PA2 the number of amine functions --NH.sub.2 present in said copolymer is at most 80 milliequivalents per kilogram of copolymer; PA2 the number of carboxyl functions --COOH present in said copolymer is at least 80 milliequivalents, preferably at least 100 milliequivalents per kilogram of copolymers.
