Abstract
With a connector for optical waveguides, comprising a socket part (10) with an exterior socket housing (11) which is open at least on one side, into which socket housing (11) from the side, of which there is at least one, a connector part with a ferrule encompassing an optical waveguide is pluggable, with a socket (25), open to the side, of which there is at least one, being arranged in the exterior socket housing (11); with said socket, during plugging-in of a connector part, accommodating the associated ferrule by a respective plug-in aperture (25a, b), integrated dust protection is achieved in that hingeably arranged means (39, 41) are provided on the socket part (10), with said means in a first hinging position allowing unrestricted plugging-in of the connector part, and in a second hinging position closing off the socket (25) to the surroundings of the socket part (10) so as to provide a dustproof seal.
