Abstract
Dyes of the Formula (1) and tautomers thereof: ##STR1## wherein: PA1 A is optionally substituted phenyl; PA1 R.sup.1 is H, optionally substituted alkyl, optionally substituted alkenyl or optionally substituted alkynyl; PA1 R.sup.2 is H, CN, optionally substituted alkyl, optionally substituted alkenyl, optionally substituted alkynyl, optionally substituted aryl or a carbonamido group; and PA1 R.sup.3 is an optionally substituted 5- or 6-membered ring; provided that R.sup.1 is not methyl. Also claimed are inks comprising a dye of the Formula (1) an aqueous medium and a water-dissipatable polymer; a method of ink jet printing using the inks; and a substrate printed with an ink according to the invention.
