Abstract
The present invention relates to indole derivatives represented by the general formula: ##STR1## (wherein R represents an ethyl group or a 2,2,2-trifluoroethyl group; Y represents a hydroxy group or a pivaloyloxy group; and the carbon atom marked with (R) represents a carbon atom in (R) configuration) and pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof, which have potent and prolonged reducing effects on intraocular pressure and are useful as agents for lowering intraocular pressure.
