Abstract

This invention relates to water-dispersible polyisocyanates obtained by reacting PA1 a) at least one bishydroxy-functional compound of the formula (I) EQU HO--R.sub.1,--[O--CR.sub.2 R.sub.3 --O--R.sub.1 ].sub.n --OH (I) PA1 wherein R.sub.1, R.sub.2, R.sub.3, and n are defined herein, with PA1 b) at least one polyisocyanate of the formula (II) EQU Q[NCO].sub.q (II) PA1 wherein Q and q are defined herein, and subsequently, in any order, with PA1 c) at least one monofunctional polyether alcohol of the formula (III) EQU R.sub.4 --[O--R.sub.5 ].sub.m --O--H (III) PA1 wherein R.sub.4, R.sub.5, and m are defined herein, and optionally with PA1 d) at least one compound of the formula (IV) EQU H--O--[R.sub.5 --O].sub.o --N.sup.+ R.sub.6 R.sub.7 R.sub.8 X.sup.- (IV) PA1 wherein R.sup.5, R.sup.6, R.sup.7, R.sup.8, O, and X.sup.- are defined herein.
