Abstract
Sulfotransferases that synthesize the HNK-1 carbohydrate epitope by adding a sulfate group to GlcA.beta.1.fwdarw.3Gal.beta.1.fwdarw.4GlcNAc.beta.1.fwdarw.R to form glycan sulfo.fwdarw.3GlcA.beta.1.fwdarw.3Gal.beta.1.fwdarw.4GlcNAc.beta.1.fwdarw. R. They are exemplified by human (hu-HNK-1ST) and mouse (mHNK-1ST) sulfotransferases. Also provided are related peptides, antibodies, nucleic acids and methods.
