Abstract
A radio network handling arrangement handles radio communication in a number of cells in a cellular communication network. The radio network handling arrangement includes a device for assignment of traffic channels and parameter for storing cell parameter information. Signal strength information holding devices are also provided. The arrangement further includes load monitors for holding information about the traffic load in at least a number of cells. The traffic assignment device includes a device for using information about cell parameters and about signal strength measurements for a number of cells to establish if there are any neighboring cells available as cell candidates for a mobile station accessing an access cell. The traffic load information relating to the access cell and such available cells is used in such a way that a load dependent assignment can be performed for a mobile station accessing an access cell.
