Abstract
A transition metal compound of the following formula (1) as catalyst component for the production of an aromatic vinyl compound polymer or an aromatic vinyl compound-olefin copolymer: ##STR1## wherein A is a specified unsubstituted or substituted benzindenyl group, and B, M, Y, and X are as specified.
