Abstract

A method is proposed for producing gold of high purity from noble metal solutions containing nitrate, with the following steps: PA1 a) Nitrate destruction in the noble metal solution, PA1 b) Addition of a gold ion reducing acid Fe.sup.2+ solution whose H.sup.+ ion concentration amounts to at least 4 mol/l, to the solution prepared in step a), whose H.sup.+ ion concentration amounts to at least 4 mol/l.
