A photothermographic material is disclosed, comprising on a support an organic silver salt, a photosensitive silver halide, a reducing agent, a binder and a compound represented by the following formulaR1—SO2—O—L1—COOM1.The photothermographic material may further comprise a compound respresented by following formula:R2—COOM2 or R3—CO—L2—COOM3.
