Abstract
Compounds suitable for use as acutance, antihalation and filter dyes in silver halide imaging materials having a nucleus represented by a compound comprising a nucleus represented by one of the following general formulae (I) and (II): in which;A and B independently represent those non-metallic atoms necessary to complete a neutral heterocyclic ring in which at least one ring atom is nitrogen,R represents hydrogen or an alkyl group, andY represents a divalent aliphatic linking group.
