Abstract
The present invention relates to a method for avoiding undesirable discoloration in polycarbonate production by catalytic removal of dissolved oxygen from phenol by(a) admixing hydrogen with phenol and(b) passing the phenol stream over ion exchangers doped with platinum group metals.
