Abstract

The present invention relates to a pharmaceutical composition comprising a biologically effective amount of a peptide of formula (I)(H2N—X1—CO—Thr—NH—X2—CO)n—R  (I)where NH—X1—CO and NH—X2—CO which are different from one another, are residues of tyrosine or arginine, in L or D configuration, where the hydroxy group of threonine and the guanidine moiety of arginine may be protected by a group conventionally used in peptide chemistry for protecting the hydroxy group and the guanidine moiety, respectively,n is 2, 3, or 4,R is a group capable of forming a dimeric, trimeric, or tetrameric peptide,and a pharmaceutically acceptable inert carrier.
