Abstract
An aqueous composition containing at least 2% by weight of pregelatinized starch and, as an emulsion, at least 1% or vegetable wax or oil, preferably chosen from carnauba wax, jojoba oil and candelilla wax. Also a process for applying a layer of this composition and in drying it so as to obtain a dry film having; a surface density of between 1 and 2.5 g/m2. Treating a metal surface with the composition provides temporary corrosion protection and prelubrication.
