Abstract
The present invention relates to the discovery that a specific pentamer peptide amide, ALGPG-NH2, which corresponds to a viral capsid sequence, can be used to inhibit viral infection, including human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infection. More specifically, medicaments comprising said pentamer peptide amide and methods of using said compounds for the prevention and treatment of viral infection, such as HIV infection, are provided.
