Abstract
An ink jet recording apparatus, which forms images on a recording medium using an ink jet recording head to discharge ink onto the medium to record the image. The recording material is carried and ink mist generated at the time of image recording flows along an air path in a specific direction. With the structure thus arranged, effective mist collection is possible Without making the pressure loss of the air flow unduly large. stains that would otherwise result in the interior of the recording apparatus can be prevented, hence avoiding the deposition of ink mists on parts that may cause the defective operation particularly due to the deposition of such stains.
