Abstract

A method and arrangement for transmitting a data packet in the Ethernet from a first arrangement to at least a second arrangement.When a data packet is transmitted in the Ethernet, the data packet is assigned a priority class (201). In addition, the data packet is labeled (202) in accordance with the priority class and transmitted (203). As a result, it becomes possible also to transmit in the Ethernet data packets of a communications connection with real-time requirements, it being possible to ensure specific time requirements in the statistical sense.
