Abstract

Polymers based on monomers having a C—C double bond and/or C—C triple bond are prepared by polymerization of these monomers in the presence of a catalyst system comprising as active constituentsa transition metal compound of an early transition metaland, if desired, a cation-forming compound B) and, if desired, further components C),wherein the polymerization mixture contains at least 30% by weight of water.
