Abstract

The present invention relates to human PGF polypeptides, DNA (RNA) encoding such polypeptides, and antibodies specifically binding such polypeptides. Also provided are procedures for producing such polypeptides by recombinant techniques, and for producing antibodies and antagonist/inhibitors against such polypeptides. Also provided are methods of using the polypeptide therapeutically for treating prostate cancer, promoting tissue regeneration, and facilitating wound healing. Further provided are methods of using such antibodies therapeutically to inhibit the action of PGF polypeptides and for the treatment of PGF-dependent tumors. Also provided is a diagnostic assay to detect prostate cancer and benign prostatic hyperplasia.
